WARSAW, Poland (AP) - Prime Minster Donald Tusk will discuss with the country's prosecutor general a news report saying that traces of explosives were found in the wreckage of the plane that crashed in 2010 in Russia killing Poland's President Lech Kaczynski and 95 others.
The findings were reported Tuesday by the Rzeczpospolita daily, which said Polish investigators examining the wreckage last month in Russia found traces of explosives on some seats and a wing. The report did not name a source. Its publication revived speculation among those who believe the president was assassinated.
The news report also said that Polish investigators are considering the possibility that the traces of explosives found could have come from the soil at the crash site, where fighting took place during the World War II and later served as a military test range.
Government spokesman Pawel Gras said that Tusk will meet the prosecutor general on Tuesday.
A 2011 government report said the crash was not caused by an explosion but Polish investigators did not have full access to the wreckage at that time.
