CHARDON, Ohio (AP) - Students who lost three classmates in a school shooting rampage one year ago in northeast Ohio marked the anniversary with a solemn walk through the community.

Students at Chardon High School east of Cleveland walked arm-in-arm in the damp cold Wednesday afternoon from the school to the town square for a memorial commemoration. Photos of the three slain students who were displayed.

Onlookers applauded the marchers and firefighters hung a large American flag from an aerial ladder.

The march ended at the courthouse where 18-year-old shooter T.J. Lane pleaded guilty to all charges Tuesday. He could face life in prison at his sentencing March 19.

The school also organized activities, including making security blankets for future victims of tragedy. The commemoration ends with an evening church concert.
