MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - An ex-Minnesota Department of Natural Resources official accused of illegally accessing drivers' license data and downloading women's photos could get up to a year in jail and a $3,000 fine.

John A. Hunt of Woodbury faces six misdemeanors, including misconduct by a public employee and unauthorized computer access.

Investigators say Hunt queried the state Driver and Vehicle Services database more than 19,000 times between 2008 and last October. They say 90 percent of those whose privacy was violated were women and included politicians, judges, prosecutors, law enforcement officers, reporters and DNR employees.

The 48-year-old Hunt was the DNR Enforcement Division's administrative manager and had legal access to the records for official business only.

Prosecutors say Hunt kept photos of 172 women.

Hunt didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
